Cataloging images using the Catalog Explorer

Top  Previous  Next

Another way to assign catalog labels to images is by using the Catalog Explorer. While cataloging with the Collection Viewer or the Image Viewer both work image oriented (you first select the image and then you assign catalog labels to it), the Catalog Explorer works label oriented.

Open the Catalog Explorer by clicking the spider web icon in the left Explorer Bar (optionally hold down the [Ctrl] key when clicking the spider web). Browse through the catalog structure or find the catalog label you want to assign to your images. The Collection Viewer on the right side will display the thumbnails if there are already images assigned to it.

You can select one or more thumbnails from the Collection Viewer and drag & drop them on any catalog label in the Catalog Explorer.

Add images from Disk

Right click on the background of the Collection Viewer while a label is selected and select “Add Images from Disk” from the context menu. You can also select “Collection->Add Images from Disk” from the main menu.

A selection dialog opens which displays. Navigate to the folder where the images reside and select one or more of them. Then click “Open” to assign the selected images to the select label in the Catalog Explorer.

If the selected images are not part of the catalog database yet, they will first be added which slows the process down.
