Dynamic Range

Top  Previous  Next

When activating the Dynamic Range effect, either from the <Editing> drop down in the Recipe panel or by pressing [Y], you will be able to customize the dynamic range of the loaded image. Simply put, the Dynamic Range will boost shadows while preserving the highlights. At first sight this may appear similar to the Fill Light option in the Light effect, but they use a different technique and Dynamic Range will, while slower than Fill Light, offer a more powerful way to boost your range.

The editing gauges are:

0% to 100%

Set a higher value to increase the dynamic range. This will make the darker areas lighter while leaving  the lighter areas untouched.
