Transfer images from a TWAIN device |

Besides transferring images from a digital camera, you can also read images from scanners or other TWAIN enabled devices. This can be done by using PTP/WIA (see previous chapter) or by using a TWAIN connection. PTP is generally preferred over the older TWAIN technology, so I recommend you first try importing images using the PTP import method. If that fails, then try using the TWAIN connection.
To import using a TWAIN connection, connect the TWAIN device to the computer using the deployed (USB) cable. Then start IDimager if it was not started yet. Click the button “Download” from the main toolbar and select the import type “From TWAIN Device”.
Step 1: Select Device
First you’ll need to specify which TWAIN enabled device you want to use as your import source. Click “Select Device”. A new window opens where all TWAIN devices are displayed.
After selecting your device, click “Continue >>” to skip to the next step.
Step 2: Select your photos
The appearance of this window may differ. The manufacturers of TWAIN devices most commonly deploy their own TWAIN driver with the device. This window is presented by the driver and not IDimager itself.
After selecting your photos click “Continue >>” to skip to the next step.
Step 3: Select target location
At this point you enter the Downloader Wizard at step 3. Please refer to the chapter "Transfer images from a memory card" for a thorough description of the steps 3 to 6 of the Downloader. |
